A couple weekends ago, during Easter long weekend my boyfriend and I impulsively decided to drive down to Cape Hatteras, North Carolina. It was Wednesday evening when we heard of his brother and a buddy making the trip and without over thinking it I was in, although I had prior breakfast, brunch and dinner plans I figured anyone of my friends and family would most likely do the same or would be very understanding. The next morning I frantically gathered some stuff and packed it in my backpack before heading to work. My day was super busy that I never really had the time to think about packing, food, exchanging money, I guess all the things I would usually and most likely over think of.
Once I was finished work, we packed the van and started the first little length of the trip to the US-CAN border where we hopped into another vehicle. And just like that, we were on a 16-hour journey to the Outer Banks. With some smooth driving and open roads, because it was in the middle of the night, we arrived at Real Watersports at 8am the next day and right then starting pumping up our kites.
And just like that, Easter weekend 2018 was the best one yet; with amazing winds, pushing new personal kitesurfing limits, thick wetsuits and new friends. I guess this is my end message to anyone reading this; mix it up once in a while and do something out of the ordinary, push your comfort zone and live it up.It’s way too easy to get sucked into the routine, the comfort. I tend to get caught up in the flow of things and just like that weeks go by and I’m stuck daydreaming rather than adventuring. Big or small adventures, going for a little hike, visiting friends in another city or even exploring your own city, pack some awesomeness and adventure when you can into your life.
